Folks, this picture shows Chuck Schumer saying: "Donald Trump cannot be allowed to spend over $900 million on a gold-plated ballroom for himself while facing no scrutiny, oversight, or an audit." Is that true? Let's look at the facts. Yes — the Trump administration is building a big new 90,000 sq ft ballroom on the site of the East Wing that was demolished. It will seat 900 people for state dinners — no more tents on the lawn! The cost? The White House says it will be $300-400 million and will be paid for by President Trump himself and private donors, not taxpayer money. The Washington Post reported the broader White House grounds construction could total $900 million, which is where Schumer's $900M number comes from. Schumer and other Democrats say it is wasteful, gold-plated, and needs an audit, and preservation groups have even sued to stop it. Republicans say — finally, the White House will have a proper ballroom like it should have had 100 years ago! Here's my take: Every President has left his mark on the White House. Jefferson added colonnades. Teddy Roosevelt built the West Wing. Truman rebuilt the whole inside. Donald Trump is a builder! He offered to build a $100 million ballroom back in 2016 and Obama said no. Now he's doing it with private money, so taxpayers don't pay! Should there be oversight? Absolutely — on EVERYTHING in Washington! But Chuck Schumer demanding an audit on a privately funded ballroom while $31 TRILLION in real government waste goes unchecked? Give me a break! This ballroom isn't for Trump — Presidents come and go — it's for AMERICA! For the next 200 years of state dinners! You tell me — should the White House have a real ballroom, or keep using tents?
