So here’s our second witchdrawal from the #TuckOff campaign. For those who aren’t aware, this is our campaign to put the venues hosting Carlson, Palmer and their other loathsome speakers on notice that if they welcome people like this, they’ll face serious consequences. This is a fascinating witchdrawal, witches. What the email below alludes to is that @AwareSuper pulled out of naming rights for the @ICCSyd venue as a direct result of our #DumpTrumpAU campaign last year. Not only did hundreds of witches withdraw their super from Aware and their affiliate companies during that campaign, but the company were highly embarrassed by the association with Trump. What we did HURT. And the email also implies ICC Sydney are having trouble finding a new naming rights sponsor, at least partly because of their embarrassing association with Trump last year. This means that contacting advertisers and suppliers when they’re associated with these disgusting speaking events works exceptionally well as a strategy to force change. HOWEVER. We’ve decided we won’t take Aware Super off our campaign lists because they’re still heavily invested in Tucker Carlson and Clive Palmer’s tour via their 45% investment in the ICC Theatre, so you should still contact them to voice your disgust at that association. All this proves our collective action WORKS. So let’s get some more withdrawals for this campaign, witches. Let’s keep up the pressure. And it’s urgent, because the events are coming up starting in just a couple of weeks.
