I wanted to wait a few days to post this as I didn’t want it to be too terribly emotional, but I have so much I’d like to say to you.
First of all, you are a hero to me. You fearlessly stuck your neck out for so many of us little guys and finally gave us a voice. I don’t know if you’ll ever know what that actually did for us. You put life back into the battle fatigued and weary. We’ve felt so helpless and discouraged for so long and when you stepped up 2 years ago you took every single concern we had and amplified it and shined a light in so many dark corners and did it fearlessly. No one has done that for us. No one. We’ve been called crazy, we’ve been called conspiracy theorists, election deniers,and deplorable. We’ve felt forgotten. Then you stepped in and gave us a home at the capitol, and place to come to that we felt safe to air out our concerns and confident that you’d do something about it.
Ive never listened to senate hearings before you, but I started to bc I knew there was someone there fighting for ME. I heard you fight for me, I saw you fight for me, and you did EVERY SINGLE THING you promised me you’d do. There’s not one other elected official I can say that about.
So when I say I was gutted the other night it wasn’t because we lost the race. Obviously that was part of it, but not as much as I thought it would be. It was more because I feel like we lost you. We lost our warrior, our leader, the one person we’ve been praying for so long, we finally had- and lost in one fail swoop. I’m having the hardest time accepting that.
For years I’ve been trying to remove Ashcroft from government, and as a parting gift, you also gave that to me. Although my heart is heavy at the expense that was paid for you to do so.
My prayer is that after the dust settles, you realize how much you mean to so many of us and not having you in government or leadership isn’t an option. I pray God leads you back to us, because we need you.
My promise to you is I will continue to fight. I will be that hemorrhoid on Kehoe’s left butt cheek that never goes away.
I don’t know what your next move will be, but whatever you do, hold your head high, because you mean so very much to so many of us.
We love you Bill Eigel, our grassroots HERO.
