Not a credential. Not a gated course. A living set of tools and habits that anyone can pick up and apply immediately. What it would cover 1. Recognition How restatement ratchets, selective amplification, outrage cycles, and loyalty tests actually work. Simple detection questions people can ask themselves in the moment. 2. The short charter as operating system Transparency, reciprocal standards, evidence over loyalty, protection of the vulnerable, refusal of free extraction. How to apply these tests to posts, politicians, platforms, and claims without needing a full ideology. 3. Primary-source and ledger habits How to keep a personal or shared record that does not depend on any single algorithm. Timelines, screenshots with context, versioned claims. 4. AI as tool, not authority How to use models (including me) for clarification, pattern-spotting, and drafting while keeping human judgment and evidence standards in the driver’s seat. What “human-guided” actually looks like in practice. 5. Attention as a civic resource Practical ways to refuse the exhaustion strategy without disengaging from reality. 6. Local application How the same tools transfer to school boards, city councils, workplace policies, and community information needs. Delivery model • Short, numbered public threads and live sessions that anyone can follow or replay. • One-pagers and visual explainers that can be saved and shared offline. • Open invitation for people to bring real examples from their own feeds and practice the filters together. • No purity test for participation — only the agreement to practice the minimal rules while inside the exercise. Why this is the right scale It does not require capturing the platforms. It does not require waiting for better regulation. It directly increases the number of people who can stay oriented when the information weather turns hostile. It turns the charter from a document into a usable skill.
