The letter to the company, putting the firm on constructive notice as to the conduct, was first published on this feed yesterday afternoon and, within hours, the campaign was suspended. “Good morning - I am reporting to GiveSendGo that you are being used by numerous individuals to hold illegal raffles which are not permitted under Massachusetts General Laws, specifically Chapter 271, that allows individuals to hold gambling schemes.” MGL Ch. 271 can be found here: https://t.co/g4yRwbSzP4,” begins the letter to GiveSendGo, a copy of which was obtained by this reporter.
“There is and continues to be an effort for individuals to hold illegal gambling schemes by the parties organizing and participating in a 60-40 split at the following GSG campaign here: [link removed].
“Since individuals organizing and participating in illegal raffles is a violation of Massachusetts General Laws, Section 271, it is my duty to report these violations to you as the organizers and participants are violating Massachusetts state law.
“These are not "donations" listed on this GSG campaign. This is an attempt at a raffle where someone wins a share of the GSG proceeds,” the letter concludes.

The vote of the jury in the #KarenReadTrial was 10-2 in favor of guilty across the board, on all three charges of the indictment.
Per a report, from a source with knowledge of the discussions (second-hand);
“Hung jury with 10-2 in favor of guilt. Of the 2 not guilty votes, 1 juror didn’t believe that incarceration serves any beneficial purpose and couldn’t, in good conscience send anyone to prison. The other juror was in the [all cops are bad] camp and believed no cop could be trusted to testify truthfully.”
Earlier, the State of Massachusetts announced they will retry #KarenRead for causing #JohnOKeefe’s death.
The next hearing is on July 22d, at 2pm, for a status conference.
