6/6 Ultimately, #OuterSpaceSecurity is #TerrestrialSecurity. The systems we depend on in orbit, support communications, navigation, climate and weather monitoring, intelligence and national security here on Earth. In my recent work on the #EarthPolarSpaceSecurityNexus, I have argued that these domains can no longer be treated as separate #StrategicTheatres. The same principle applies to #OrbitalSustainability: risks created in #OuterSpace can reverberate far beyond it, just as developments on #Earth can affect the #SpaceInfrastructureSecurity. The future of this #GlobalCommons therefore requires #Governance that is as interconnected as the challenges we face. Humanity is becoming highly dependent on #OuterSpace, for our critical infrastructure, like the Internet, navigation, aviation & weather prediction Any disruption of #SpaceOrbits will negatively impact our #TerrestrialSecurity which is intrinsically linked to #SpaceSecurity

My latest; Regulate Outer Space before It Is Too Late The intimate connection between #SpaceSecurity & #TerrestrialSecurity means that: If outer space becomes critically unsafe, it will be unsafe for everyone without exception. https://t.co/Zs9rPB9rU1 via @MDiplomacyWORLD
