It is fascinating how much I’ve learnt about video streaming recently :D 3 years ago I was rejected from a job based on lack of knowledge of tvOS API / libs for handling video. That is 100x easier when compared to issues with #TeslaCarPlay 😎

Karma is a bitch. I posted the video of #teslaCarPlay yesterday to show that it’a „alpha” quality. One day later: ~2x faster. animations Turns out I’ve enabled power saving at some point 🤣 on top of that 5GHz wifi configuration was not enabled 🤦🏻♂️

This is all the hardware needed for #teslaCarPlay minus the usb dongle for CarPlay.Deploy in the center console or in the trunk with a stronger Wi-Fi router. It will reduce to a single raspberry pi later, but that is still WIP and I won’t wait for it before releasing first builds
Anyone familiar with chroots on AOSP? I am debating between a raspbian chroot, an LXC based container or direct binary/libs injection for #teslaCarPlay dependencies. The first two should be faster to setup, but I don’t want that to backfire on me later
Holy 🥑 😎 I got h264 working with WebRTC for #teslaCarPlay The video feed is now very low latency and much faster when compared to my first builds. Janus plays nicely with @FlutterDev Back to the multi touch driver I guess 😅
Linux folks. Anyone knows a piece of software/kernel module that allows receiving input events via network that exposes a fake /dev/inputX device? I implemented this using an Android API for #teslaCarPlay but I want something more robust/cross platform
I am daily driving a 6th? revision of the #teslaCarPlay project, each one is better when compared to a previous one, but I will settle once I won’t be able to figure out another way to improve it.
I’ve ordered a CSI to HDMI adapter for #teslaCarPlay to see if h264 screen stream is possible with an “unnoticeable” delay. Using android apis or u4vl gives me high fps that is destroyed by lacking touch responsiveness. mjpeg is almost real-time but not 30fps, 20 at best 😅
I’ve been running my iMac(aka loud hairdryer) on 100% CPU usage for 4/6h per day to get fresh #teslaCarPlay builds. Electricity rates are killing me but at least I am charging my car for free elsewhere to offset that 🤣
Having a good router in the trunk powered from the 12V outlet makes updates a breeze. The update download starts a minute after I wake the car from the app 😅 The power consumption of my raspberries for #teslaCarPlay is unnoticeable since they sleep with the car
