11/21 Deut 32:8’s “sons of God” became “sons of Israel” in Rabbinic texts (2nd c.). They literally changed the wording! This erased divine council links to Jesus as eternal creator YHWH-Son inheriting nations (v. 9). #TextualVariants #Deuteronomy32

There's debate about the importance of #textualvariants in the #newtestament, with 5800+ handwritten Greek manuscripts alone, there are many differences. Here's a guide to variants & translation differences, which I think of as "Why you only read the King James as literature"

There are 400,000 #textualvariants in the #NewTestament. There are more variants than words in the New Testament by a factor of 10. And that's what we would expect to see given how we understand the scribal and transmission evidence for the NT. https://t.co/UJs1TTtmRL

We cover the topic of how the #NewTestament came to be and how scribes, manuscripts, and #textualvariants help us to have confidence that we have the Word of #God preserved in the text of #TheBible. https://t.co/gx9srhqsVR
