<<தமிழில் கீழே>> We had to struggle for almost 3 days, going back and forth, to get police permission, and even wait for many hours to get the police order copy in hand late the previous night, to organise this Human Chain.😐 (Well, those ordeals themselves deserve a separate post — will write one soon.) But all these efforts met their purpose when we gathered in hundreds on a busy road in the centre of the city, literally on the streets, surrounded by the public, police, ongoing traffic and various shops — calling out the perpetrators and enablers, highlighting the systemic failures, and putting forth our demands — loud and clear! The thing that made this possible was nothing but our collective energy and the vigour for justice and reforms! Cheers to each and every one who joined in response to our call — irrespective of it being a weekday evening — and strengthened our voice and demands! ✨🎊✨ We collected 179 physical signatures and 413 digital endorsements to our petition to the CM regarding this case during the event. We will get more in the coming days and do whatever is needed to ensure that it is heard and acted upon. The Human Chain may have ended. Our collective demand for justice and institutional accountability has not. ✊🏽 #CollectiveEnergy #TheHumanChain #POCSOVeeramani #InstitutionalAccountability
