Billy performs Phaya’s character so well here, he is soft spoken and in doing so created the right safe feeling environment that you can feel the relief in him getting all these unspoken feelings finally off his chest, constantly reading Tharn’s reaction to his words. You can see Tharn’s inner turmoil in real time getting the better of him, most likely trying to tell himself that he isn’t allowed to be happy and choosing the right words to let Phaya down gently, it’s written all over his face especially his watery eyes constantly giving him away 🥺 It takes Phaya finally realising that Tharn must be treated with the utmost care and given reassurance that he isn’t going anywhere for Tharn to finally allow himself this precious moment.
