As a local entity, if you want to venture into a business idea on your land, the call is not yours to make. Now, I assume the call will not be yours because a new ministry is in place, which makes investing longer and more complex as a local entity.

I hope the Ministry of Public Investment looks at how it can change some rules around public procurement that sometimes make it difficult for entities to have value for money. Some procedures make it difficult for these entities to operate.

I would recommend an overhaul of these boards to make them competitive. Part of the problem is that people are appointed for these roles not wanting them and end up being passive that they don't make fundamental contributions to the institutions.

If we do not allow these government investments to be run as investments, put the right governance structures in place, allow boards to be proactive, and allow CEOs of the businesses to run them as businesses, it will create problems. 2/2

Any business may get into losses or make a profit. But the outcome mainly depends on how well you studied the business before you ventured into it and how well you run the business.
