1) The Scottish research mirrors what occurred in Ireland & numerous other countries. Sadly, Families and residents were ignored. We campaigned consistently for Care Partner, for safeguarding, for an end to prolonged isolation. We watched our loved ones die alone.
The experts in care are those with lived experience. Families, residents and recipients of care. There was little learned from wave to wave in the pandemic and our families paid with their lives. Families must be heard. #TheyMattered #publicInquiry.
