The other day I was scheduled to see a medically / socially complex patient who I’d never met before and whose visit required a translator. How long did they give me? 15 mins. How long did the visit actually take? 1.5 hours.
Me: “If you want, I’ll go with you. I mean it.”
Someone came & got me. Said you wanted to do what I’d offered. Which was go with you to get your #COVIDVaccine.
Yup.
Even better? Your partner joined in. (Plus a lady in the lobby who asked if she could come, too.)

My 3 y/o patient with developmental delay recognized me on a TV commercial. His mom was so impressed when he got her attention and pointed to the TV saying "Mommy, doctor." She showed me a video of him saying it and I shed a thug tear!

Remembering in med school I took care of an elderly patient, dying of progressive cancer. She had difficulty falling asleep, so I asked, “What helps you sleep at home?”

I saw this Grady elder in the clinic one morning. He was walking through the hallway and appeared a bit lost.
Not lost in that way like where you don't completely know where you are, but more in that way where you know you're right near where you're supposed to be.
