November 30, 1996 - Lois Lane, internationally known star reporter of Metropolis' Daily Planet, marries her fellow reporter Clark Kent. The couple will have an eventful honeymoon in Hawaii where Kent is kidnapped by the drug lord known as Rajiv Naga.

November 10, 1992 - Professor Charles Xavier, mutant rights activist, is shot while speaking at a concert championing diversity and equality in Central Park. He ultimately survives the assassination attempt.

October 10, 2007 - The recently returned god of thunder, Thor, transports the Asgard citadel to Broxton, Oklahoma. Asgard eventually finds itself unexpectedly at the center of events that bring down H.A.M.M.E.R. and Norman Osborn, hero of the Skrull invasion.

September 10, 1980 - Following the destruction of the D'Bari homeworld, Shi'ar Empress Lilandra and her Imperial Guard enter into combat with the humans known as the X-Men in a bid to destroy the Phoenix entity. They believe they are successful at the time.

August 10, 1993 - Coast City is obliterated by the alien Mongul and Hank Henshaw, one of the Superman pretenders that cropped up in the wake of Superman's "death" at the hands of Doomsday. Casualties are in the several millions.

August 1, 1996 - The entity known as Onslaught isolates New York City using an army of sentinels. He creates a giant tower out of nothing and, in response to an attack by the Avengers, Fantastic Four, and X-Men, unleashes a devastating EMP in the city.

July 31, 1995 - The town of Springville, Pennsylvania is wiped out by the Carion virus unleashed by the Jackal. Spider-Man will exhibit a lot of strange behavior in the wake of the attack and eventually seem to be briefly replaced by the Scarlet Spider.

July 10, 1973 - Norman Osborn, whose identity as the Green Goblin will be revealed years later, seemingly dies in a confrontation with Spider-Man. When Osborn's body is found (no longer in the Green Goblin costume), Spider-Man is blamed for his murder.
