Morning Prayer Heavenly Father, Today, we come before You with grateful hearts. This is the Lord’s day, a day we remember in a special way the resurrection of Your Son, Jesus. Thank You for this gift and for all the blessings You shower upon us. We pray that all sacramental Christians will attend Holy Mass or the Divine Liturgy if they can. For our non-sacramental Christian friends, we hope they gather in their faith communities and offer prayers to You, doing their best to honor You. And for those who aren’t Christian, we pray that our example and the Holy Spirit touch their hearts. Lord, we lift up everyone suffering from the devastation of war and conflict around the world. Help us to seek Your peace and enlightenment in these dark times. We also remember that on this day, August 4, 1879, Pope Leo XIII issued the encyclical Aeterni Patris. This document revived the study of Scholastic philosophy, especially Thomism, in the Church, emphasizing the harmony of faith and reason. Thank You for the wisdom of our Church leaders and the guidance of Your Holy Spirit in preserving the truth. We ask all this through Jesus Christ, Your Son, who lives and reigns with You in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen.
