@Grumbletwat He was a talented actor. You were indeed lucky to have had a chance to work with him. May he rest in peace. #TonySher

I was very lucky to work with Tony Sher twice. Once in a great soufflé of a show ‘The Captain of Köpernick’ at the National, and again in the far more intimate ‘Hysteria’ at the Hampstead. He was so kind, so careful, and so talented. RIP Great man. Xxx #TonySher

Very very sad to hear about dear #TonySher. My first job at the @TheRSC he was a mentor and a legend. In #Tamburlaine watching him learn circus skills and then on #Travesties. He was so mesmerising. May his memory be a blessing. All love to Greg Doran. And all thoughts w @TheRSC

Year of the King - An Actor’s Diary by #AntonySher is a brilliant and inspiring book which I read over and over again. He also filled it with his illustrations. Actor, writer, artist, director, a true Renaissance man #TonySher

Laughed and cried ⁦@TheRSC⁩ #RSCKunene tonight - extraordinarily brilliant performances from ⁦@JohnKani2⁩ and #tonysher - and what a play! Great intimate and profound theatre.
