@ifyuk88 No argument there! Tonye Cole's business leadership, political experience, and grassroots development work speak for themselves. This is a question of capacity and on that measure, he is more than qualified to deliver as Deputy Governor.

GENTLEMEN DON’T SURVIVE IN NIGERIA’S POLITICAL JUNGLE — AND HERE’S WHY
The British Empire Was Built on Opium, Slavery, and Gunboat Diplomacy. Anyone Who Thinks Nigerian Politics Plays by Different Rules Has Already Lost.

I learnt a long time ago that gentleman tactics get you nowhere in Nigerian politics. Power and money, plus the ability to be ruthless — absolutely ruthless — when dealing with those who would be King is needed at all times, even when sleeping. I have never shown my real hand in Nigeria. It is a dangerous thing to let your guard down, and knowing what to say and when to say it is essential in the jungle that is Nigerian politics.
You see, in Nigeria, every day you get up and head for your job you become a political dancer on coal fires — never knowing if your colleague is trying to take your job, or your boss wants to fire you, and in the case of women, if the boss is once again going to try his luck with you, harass you all day long no matter how many times you show him your wedding ring. It’s a dog-eat-dog world just trying to earn a living so you can feed your family — and all the time you are expected to smile.
I watched in horror when my uncle’s son Tonye Cole was attacked when he ran for Governor of Rivers State. PDP thugs descended on him and other APC stalwarts at the INEC office in Port Harcourt . Dynamite was thrown at his rally ground, followed by sporadic gunfire. A millionaire being shown the rough side of Port Harcourt politics. I swore that would never happen to me — if ever I ran for public office — that no street thug paid by men like Wike would tear my clothes and hit me over the head.
Let me explain why a school like Eton College costs so much money. They teach you, alongside the pretty pageantry of English history, how the British managed to rule one quarter of the world’s surface. Hong Kong, which today is a bustling business centre filled with millionaires, was originally a drug depot — an opium storage facility. Opium was shipped from Hong Kong to China in such abundance by families like the Sassoons that they managed to get the Chinese population hooked on the drug. The British made a fortune selling narcotics to the Chinese, and when the addiction rate became a national epidemic and the Chinese Emperor tried to throw them out, they were met with gunboat diplomacy — bombed into submission by drug dealers posing as gentlemen.
My history teacher, the famous Michael Kidson, would point to a boy in the class from a very aristocratic family and say: “That castle you live in was bought from the proceeds of drugs — Lord So-and-So, you are nothing more than a drug dealer’s offspring.” He would then look around the class and say: “You there — you lazy idiot — you are the descendant of slave traders. Your family were slavers in the West Indies. Millions of Africans were bought and sold by your family — so much so they were able to buy their titles.” Lloyds. Barclays. The Anglican Church. All approved of slavery. Queen Elizabeth the First commissioned pirates to begin the slave trade. It was a royal business concern.
I would burst out laughing — and he would turn to me and say: “Look at who’s laughing. King Amachree sold his fellow Africans to us white people. Stop laughing.”
What I am saying is this: the so-called Great Britain was a gangster’s paradise. Behind those posh accents and tea-at-three nonsense, they were as evil and dirty as it gets — and that is precisely what I would bring to the table against a Tinubu or a Wike. Teach them a lesson in dirty tactics, otherwise they would kill me — truth be told — jail me, or laugh me off.
Gentleman Jack was Jack shit in Nigerian politics. I learnt that a long time ago.
The difference I would bring is this: I would not enter government to steal from the state or from the people. Just like good old Winston Churchill.
I rest my case.
The new movement in Nigeria is beyond political noise makers and focused on credible minds that can revive this nation to it's greater heights.
One of the reasons citizens rally behind Peter Obi and also Tonye Cole is also moving that agenda 👏
