@Kanthara @ToonBoom I think the fear of disappointing your supervisors keeps a lot of folks silent, because they want to make sure they get re-hired. Honestly, animation is a difficult thing to craft and schedules aren't always feasible. Communication, and genuine honesty are good traits! #ToonChat

@RumpusAnimation @ToonBoom There's a lot of animated collabs or re-animateds out there with animators collaborating together. Make sure you're working on something you genuinely care about as it will help keep you motivated to continue and finish your project. #ToonChat

@ToonBoom Don't ever go dark. Communicate in your best times, and your worst times. If you're not able to deliver on time for something, let your team mates know as soon as possible. It's a lot easier to work out strategies with all the information to hand. #ToonChat

@ToonBoom Oh! And if you live where it feels safe to do so, a walk can do wonders. My friend @PaperbagTweet gave me the advice to 'walk to work' each morning and then back home each evening. It does wonders to help that mental separation between work and relaxation. #ToonChat

@ToonBoom You can do it! The most important thing for me is getting to my desk on time in the morning. Communicate often to those you work with, especially if you feel overwhelmed. They might be able to help! And make sure you carve out that creative time for yourself, too. #ToonChat

@ToonBoom Learning when and how to make time and space for yourself is super important. You need to give yourself that headspace so you don't end up burning out, it's easy to stay at your desk too long. #ToonChat

@ToonBoom It’s a different beast because of the virus right now, but we have to be careful that this doesn’t lead studios to make crew pay for production space (their rent) and equipment without reimbursement. #ToonChat

@ToonBoom In live-action, we charge a Kit Fee when we supply the tools for our job. That’s above what we charge for our time. Animators need to think in those terms as well if the studio expects you to invest in the tools they specify or tools needed for their production. #ToonChat

@RumpusAnimation @ToonBoom I think it's important to realise sooner that you can collaborate with other animators before you're hired somewhere. It's tough to sustain indefinitely without financial support though #ToonChat
