Closing the #TopsyTuesday series this week with Frederick Hollyer's platinum print (1874 @NPG) From next week we focus on Morris's companion featured here, Burne-Jones. Dissatisfied with #TedTuesday (B-J was Ned not Ted!) the PRS welcomes all suggestions for an alliterative tag!

'Wey' furnishing fabric (1883, V&A) for this week's #TopsyTuesday. One of several designs taking its name from Thames tributaries, Morris was apparently also inspired by a fine piece of Italian cut velvet for this luscious, rich & undulating design.

'Poppy' or 'Wreath' a wallpaper design with poppies & acanthus flowers, c.1880 (private collection) for this week's #TopsyTuesday. Gouache on paper over pencil and crayon, inscribed with colour instructions in the artist's hand.

The lush, verdant 'Forest' Tapestry (1887, V&A) for this week's #TopsyTuesday. Festooned in swirling foliage, we find a rich menagerie (designed by Philip Webb) including a fox, a peacock, a crow and a majestic lion (Aslan always come to mind) in the very centre....

A small panel from King Rene's Honeymoon Cabinet (1861, V&A) designed by Val Prinsep for this week's #TopsyTuesday. Representing the craft of 'Ironwork' it shows Morris as a blacksmith. Walter Crane arguably followed suit in the Socialist League membership card design in 1888.

Midsummer Morris! Continuing Solstice week on #TopsyTuesday with lines from Morris's letter to Georgiana Burne-Jones, Midsummer Day June 22nd 1889 'Haymaking is going on like a house afire..one big nosegay, the scents wonderful..' (Pic: Holman Hunt: Cornfield at Ewell 1849, Tate)

A labour of love yet frustration, Morris transcribed 6 books of 12 & provided ornament/borders. Illustrations by Burne-Jones. Completed by Fairfax Murray, Louise Powell & Graily Hewitt.

Now that fishing is permitted again, here's a skit of Morris by Rossetti (British Mus.,1871) showing him sitting with a rod under his arm, reading a copy of 'The Earthly Paradise', whilst the fish are laughing & rolling around in the water! No catch today then!๐ฃ๐#TopsyTuesday

Photos of the idyllic Red House, Bexleyheath for this week's #TopsyTuesday
Co-designed by Philip Webb & Morris & inhabited by the Morris family & friends between 1860-5, one wonders whether the 'Towers of Topsy' & Palace of Art would have been the perfect place to self-isolate...
