Effective 1st July, A/c opening fee has been waived for #TradeFreePlan (Plan that provides zero intraday brokerage for those above 30 years of age). Subscription fee for #TradeFreeYouth in Year-1 also reduced to ₹99 from ₹299 (Plan which provides Zero Brokerage in all segments for those under 30 years of age). Revenue was never a consideration when we introduced this fee while opening an account. It was more to filter non-serious customers. We have removed/reduced the fee because while we succeeded in filtering out non-serious customers, this was acting as a barrier for small serious customers at times. We believe that while we may incur some higher costs by removing/reducing fee, additional higher revenue from the serious customers should offset this cost. #KotakNeo #KotakSecurities

₹1000Cr+ in FY2024. Yes 1000Cr+ These are the cumulative savings our clients have made in FY24 by opting for our Zero Brokerage Plans as against paying ₹20/- per order. The first plan was launched in Oct 20. Intraday is Free in #TradeFreePlan, #TradeFreeYouth and #TradeFreePro. It is free irrespective of Order type. Whether you chose NRML, CNC or MIS, if it is Intraday, it is free. Clarifying as I saw a lot of miscommunication floating on twitter on this. We have kept it as transparent as it can get.

Brokerage is charged basis the plan one has chosen. One has to choose #TradeFreePlan or #TradeFreeYouth to get benefits of Zero brokerage on intraday. Expecting Zero brokerage without opting for the plan in not how it works. Clarifying as a few are doubting our integrity. We do err, but never compromise on integrity.

“Disrupt yourself, or someone else will” When we launched #TradeFreePlan and later #TradeFreeYouth, it was clear that existing clients will shift to the plan much before we start acquiring new customers in the said #ZeroBrokerage plans. We would lose significant revenue streams before we gained new ones. Another choice was not allowing our existing brokerage paying customers to migrate to #ZeroCost plans, but that would have been unfair for our existing loyal customers. Customers who had stayed with us thru thick & thin. We finally decided that all out plans were for all our customers. We allowed our existing clients also to migrate without hassle. Rather, we made it even more transparent by allowing one click migration from within app/website for all existing clients. Two years down, we probably still haven’t covered the losses. But what we have gained is goodwill. Our existing customers are ours. We are gaining new ones. Our referrals thru existing clients have multiplied many fold. Learning: 1. No doubt, disruption is extremely painful in the short term. But not changing could challenge your very existence. 2. Be truthful to your clients. New and existing both. Don’t ever think you will be able to game them. 3. Persistence will pay. Stay Transparent, Stay Trustworthy and listen to the customers voice. @kotakneo #KotakNeo

Intraday across segments is Zero, Carry forward trades in ₹20 per order & cash delivery is 0.25%. The brokerage on liquid ETF’s is 0.01% and on all other ETF’s and G-Sec’s is 0.05%. #TradeFreeYouth(TFY) - 2 year plan with an annual fee of ₹299/- & 499/- respectively in year 1 & year 2 for customers under 30 years of age.
