I’m pretty sure you don’t need a professor in med school to tell you that you shouldn’t be taking vials of blood from someone you don’t intend to treat. Some of us actually have these pesky things called ethics and morals. #TransHealthFail
So important in Medical Education are patient stories. Stories change minds. I ask if members of the Trans community could offer their stories of poor/rejected medical care so that I can share those stories with other healthcare professionals.

@TransSamSurrey I had a doctor tell me, the allergic reaction I was having to a diabetes drug was because of my hormones. So I was forced off HRT for over a week, and almost died because they refused to believe it was an allergic reaction and kept focusing on me being trans. #TransHealthFail
Went to a walk-in clinic on Commercial for something related to my ears, thinking it’s most likely trans friendly. Doctor started by asking about medication I’m on. When I replied “estradiol” guessed that I was trans and asked if I’d had “all the surgeries.”

Took a 2x4 to the back of my knee today. Went to the ER to have the doctor recoil at me, barely look at my knee, not ask about my pain, and then misgender me to the nurse, and suggest a tetanus shot.
