"If we want to save the world then let's begin with our children. Let's enable them and equip them for the real world...Let's not crush spirits before they have had time to glow....We need to put the zing back into education." Ben Fogle #education #transformcurriculum
When will our government realise that the current education system is failing too many YP. #transformcurriculum
@MrsSDalton75 @sarah_j_d_34 Courses or educational pathways provide choice & relevance & skills

Singapore’s govt made this decision in 2019, I was inspired to write about it in my book ‘Secondary Curriculum Transformed’. Govt realised academic curriculum/ testing failed too many YP!
If these are future UK workers why is our education system only fit for the past ?
#transformcurriculum
And why is school the stressor? Let me guess 🤨…… unfit curriculum and assessment systems?
Mindfulness can only work if children’s day to day learning is enjoyable, relevant and motivational.

And has consideration been given to school being the stressor?
I was struck by this motivational quote on core values….
By changing the focus of our education system to valuing these attributes and not ONLY ‘ SATs’ GCSE & A level outcomes - we can achieve a fairer kinder society where each individual is valued. 👇🏻👍

“Every human being is a raindrop. And when enough raindrops become clear and coherent they then become the power of the storm.”
John Trudell
Schools have power to transform young people into that storm. Now it’s a mere drizzle so let’s make a difference.

The government continues to perpetuate that better exam results provide YP with better chances in life. Exams only show how well a YP has remembered facts the government thinks they need to know. Such narrow minded thinking that fails our YP. #transformcurriculum
@debrakidd @Comcultgirl @Rethinking_Ed @Yumna_Hussen @naomicfisher @profneilmercer @Ian1Cunningham @sarahseleznyov Well WE are all on the same page 👏👏but NOT the same page as the govt who clearly think learning does NOT matter and allow one third of YP to fail every year at 16 ! 😞

Ending school exclusions will only happen once we transform curriculum and ensure all YP are
👏truly engaged in active learning the subjects they choose
👏not turned off by rote learning a knowledge led academic curriculum!

Talking about school today my daughter said’ “I’m sure there are nice teachers out there but mine tried to control my brain.” #autism #transformcurriculum
But we have always known this - most importantly why don't the Unions openly challenge govt for creating stress on the mental and physical well-being of children and staff?
One survey states stress increased by 50% amongst children!
Do we need more proof?

@emmasnug @BernadetteEakin @Lixy_Cat @duncanspalding Vote in a govt that has an education manifesto which puts children's needs first and not political dogma! Let me know when you find one that does that please...

So let's stop cramming facts into children! Lets plan learning opportunities for developing their creative thinking skills and imagination- if this was good enough for Einstein who was dyslexic then its good enough for our ALL children and young people!

This is fabulous ! Great examples of creative thinking in STEM preparing children for their secondary education and beyond. Well done to the children. 👏

The latest batch of @VHPS_Year6 3D printing has been completed. We have first aid kits, irrigation systems, solar powered and modular housing to name a few of the great ideas. #VHPStem #problemsolving
Too many children spend too many years in education feeling marginalised on the inside .
It’s time we changed the curriculum and the quality of educational experiences.
Children must leave the glass bubble and feel in control of their learning.
#transformcurriculum
So a values led curriculum would ensure that children were taught that an apology and making amends was what counted and not be excluded for ‘ poor behaviours’ .
Modelling relationships for life long learning .

Insightful and moving on the right trajectory 👏👏
Influencing DfE to implement change in the best interests of ALL our CYP is the biggest challenge.
Despite overwhelming evidence from all of us how will this happen ?

@sarah_j_d_34
Now this speaks volumes by a 12 year old about an education system that does not enable a child to ‘belong’ but to ‘fit in’. Is that right ?
At least one third of CYP feel this way everyday in school and that does not include those who are excluded !

EdTech help teachers and home-educators & importantly students become self reflective independent leaders of their learning .
Why not try 'Read&Write' for instance, a digital literacy tool for dyslexia and boosting reading confidence?

Teaching is an endless to do list and it will never be completed in one
day. It is time to make a conscious effort by prioritising the most
important tasks. Use #Edtech tools to help manage your workload
