These were lovely words to read, amongst the many that delegates used yesterday to describe the feeling they left with, at the end of the #TraumaInformedNotts Conf, led by @ncitycare_SSBC, @ClaireAustin4 & colleagues.

The team at #traumainformednotts were very creative today. They basically bribed people into being sure to submit feedback forms by giving away a set of my books #TigersAndTeddies. And they sweetened the arrangement by asking me to sign them ahead of time. 😀😀
Thanks to all our partners presenting today it was great to hear about all the different work happening across the system #traumainformednotts
I am at an event today with 200+ people, on building a trauma informed culture across Nottingham. This govt policy is the opposite of everything we’ve talked about today. #TraumaInformedNotts
So we want our families to be cared for, loved even. Yet our system doesn't allow for those people employed to do it to have that experience for themselves. Those that feel loved find it easy to display love. Shameful.
Here you go folks. 130 cereal boxes later. 😀😀😀 Building community through shared goals. #Traumainformednotts
Community connection, relationships, access to learning, reflection all important parts a trauma informed approach - shared through a cereal box activity - lots of excitement and buzz #traumainformednotts @ncitycare_SSBC @suzannezeedyk @_LisaCherry

This morn my Twitter feed is full of stories of children in schools w/ (tired?) adults telling them to sit still & be quiet. I thought I wd say I was proud this week at #traumainformednotts to share t story of @RosneathPrimary ‘s Teddy Bear Policy & how it transformed the school.
This video is a classic experiment that shows how adult anger affects children’s behaviour & biology. It was much talked about when I showed it yesterday in Nottingham at #traumainformednotts. So I plan to show it at tomorrow’s Inverness event. https://t.co/3chNPQnV66
I spoke at length today at #traumainformednotts , about the impact of denial & discomfort as factors in resisting trauma-informed practices. It was reassuring to see how often those terms came up in the feedback. I’m going to keep this focus in mind for future talks.
