If we somehow go another week without a new named storm in the Atlantic, it will be the longest streak without a new named storm formation in the peak of the season since 1929 (when of course some storms likely went undetected!). We’ve got 4 legitimate, but slight chances to avoid potentially holding this nearly century-long record

Morning VIS satellite imagery is showing that #95L is nearing TC status with deep, rotating convection continuing to develop over a well defined LLC, indicating a gradually organizing system. Could even be a TC at this time and may become a TD later today. #tropics #tropicswatch

A recent ASCAT pass has shown that Invest #95L is starting to develop a well defined LLC, with continued deep convective bursts along with organizing t-storm activity. If current trends do continue, 95L may become a tropical cyclone within ~12hrs. #tropics #tropicswatch

Well, it seems that Invest #92L is reorganizing off the coast of Georgia this morning with persistent, bursting convection redeveloping over the existent LLC of the system. If convection can sustain for a little longer this may be a TC again. #tropics #tropicswatch #wxtwitter

Latest RECON mission into #AL92 suggests we at most have a likely TD, with multiple FL readings at or in excess of 30kt associated with plausible 30-35kt SFMR’s. Also, an LLC embedded in bursting convection at least yields in the T1.5-2.0 range. #tropics #weather #tropicswatch
