The tampering in collegiate summer baseball is staggering. I really cherish the programs with ethics at the top of the list and the coaching staffs at those programs. We talk a lot about legacy. To me, legacy is the impact you leave behind with your peers and supervisors. The bread crumbs you leave behind the places you’ve been. Lost is the thought that you are building something for future players. A place you can bring your kids to and say, “I made an impact here”. As coaches, we talk about players that have come through our programs. We all do it whether we realize it or not. Big picture thinking is a thing of the past. Immediate gratification has replaced it. I think most coaches would agree that if a player isn’t happy and wants to leave, they probably should. But enter the portal and then programs can communicate. I want life long Scots in our program and I couldn’t be more proud of the guys that come through our program and graduate. I will ALWAYS be in their corner. Go Scots!
