In a new escalation of the #war waged by Turkey on northeastern Syria, Turkish forces targeted unarmed civilian convoys during peaceful demonstrations condemning Turkish military operations and demanding the protection of #Kurdish_civilians in the region known as "Rojava."
#The_attack resulted in numerous civilian casualties, including #women and #children, in what constitutes a blatant violation of #InternationalFeature_humanitarian law and #human_rights principles. Targeting #defenseless civilians in conflict zones is classified as a #war_crime and a crime against humanity, necessitating #international_legal_accountability.
This crime is part of a series of attacks that have also targeted #infrastructure and #vital_facilities, exacerbating the suffering of the local population and worsening the humanitarian #crisis in the region. Despite international calls to de-escalate, Turkey continues its military operations with blatant disregard for the lives of innocent people or the rights of the communities living in these areas.
The international community and #human_rights_organizations are urged to take immediate action to stop these crimes and ensure those responsible are held accountable before international courts.

❗️Roboski: The Shame That Lingers on Erdogan's Government Forehead
Twelve years ago, the #Turkish #military attacked a group in #Roboski, described as 'smugglers.' These #Kolbars were #bombarded by the #Turkish_army while crossing the #border in the Roboski region, also known as #Uludere.
In this attack, 34 people were #killed. The shattered bodies of these Kolbars were transported from the rugged #mountains to the cities by horses. Advanced #Turkish_Air_Force fighter jets were used in this assault.
Roboski #massacre occurred in the district of #Şırnak province, situated on the border between #Turkey and #Iraq, where among the 34 killed Kolbars, 19 were #children, most of whom were members of one #family or relatives.
Despite 12 years passing since this massacre, the Turkish #government still hasn't been held accountable for the army's actions, nor has it raised any complaints on behalf of the victims' families.
Despite public outcry, none of the #political parties supported conducting a #national or even #international investigation to examine the reasons behind the attack and the motive behind the killing of children.
The #Turkish_government, in #violation of the rights of #Kurds in the country, even disallowed the families' complaints from being submitted to the #European_Court of #Human_Rights.
