To create a quicker, more natural separation on DP pivots, MIFs should perfect:
- Receiving the ⚾️ with the throwing hand slightly below the glove (vs. “thumb to thumb”)
- Deflecting the ball into their throwing 🖐 as they transition into their throwing motion
#Turn2Tuesday
MIFs: Think STOP 🛑 & REDIRECT 🔁 on DP flips
The transfer from glove ➡️ hand should be seamless by being “on time” with the throwing hand as the ⚾️ & glove make contact
Incorporate a pancake glove in practice/training to master this concept
#Turn2Tuesday #InfieldHappyHour
Key points to the 4-6 DP flip:
• Finish L ➡️ R & field the ⚾️ inside the left foot to create momentum towards 2B
• Flip it from where you field it! No glove squeeze or arm swing!
• Follow your flip & avoid the 🏃♂️ - Notice @javy23baez peel off to the OF-side
