#UAD3 - Twitter Hashtag

I think my tweets are buried in the abyss but here’s a video from Saturday after the storm; the fish were biting so good. 🎣Meanwhile, GSE push for a product without software or adequate competition to support the MISMO mandate. 🏹 #UAD3.6 or bust.

Super happy to see people almost bum rush the stage to talk with @justinromack and @chrisdorso after #uad3. (Kidding: a very polite line/large group has formed, though) #heweb18

For any of the @Netflix original series, turn Audio Description on. It adds another layer to these series, and is an excellent example of doing it right. #uad3 #heweb18 @justinromack @chrisdorso

If you can’t describe it or explain the joke in text without coming across like a jerk, just don’t use it. (Seriously) #uad3 #heweb18

Accessibility needs to take priority over branding in terms of color usage. #UAD3 #HEWeb18

But your alt text doesn’t always have to be poetic. Be conscious of the context: don’t provide twice (if you provide a detailed description, don’t repeat in alt text). #uad3 #heweb18

Screen reading apps DO read emojis. Apple’s leading the way there. #uad3 #heweb18

So happy to have the chance to sit in on #UAD3 and watch @cdorso and @justinromack guide all of us through the experiences of those who are required to use screen readers. We say we build our sites and do social with accessibility in mind, but do we? #heweb18

#a11y tips for tweeting: - Don’t use acronymns. Write it out. - Dont overuse emojis or use in your profile. Screen readers read them all. - Use camel case in your hashtags to limit confusion by made up words. #SusanParty vs #susanparty. @justinromack @cdorso #uad3 #heweb18

These accessibility tips are good for being a person on the internet but also a person offline: don't use acronyms, don't try too hard to be cute, don't be confusing, don't be a jerk. #uad3 #heweb18
