The systematic review revealed while more than half of baseball players were able to return to play after primary and revision UCL reconstruction, return to same level of play rates after revision UCLR were as low as 42% in the literature. #UCLReconstruction #InjuryRecovery

Return to play after #UCLreconstruction varies between 6.5 and 16 months; while rehab most commonly consists of progressive ROM, strengthening, and an interval throwing program. More consistent approaches and criteria are needed. https://t.co/n7qGIn6QKJ #medtwitter

What is the best way to rehab after “Tommy John” surgery? These authors reviewed 717 #UCLReconstruction in #MLB. Spoiler alert: the timing of throwing progression & rehab milestones varied widely but did not correlate with outcomes.

Again, I use weighted ball throwing with baseball players but the science needs to back up rationales. #shoulderrehab #rotatorcuff #shoulderpain #shouldersurgery #elbowrehab #elbowpain #ucl #uclreconstruction #MLB #baseball #baseballpitcher

Fact of the Day: #UCLreconstruction has an 85% success rate. Although surgery takes roughly an hr to perform, the rehabilitation process can take up to a yr. After surgery the elbow Is secured in a brace to protect the healing tissue. https://t.co/S5wP8fdmUB #tommyjohnsurgery

People often forget about catchers when it comes to #UCLreconstruction. Their return to play is extremely poor. We need to find ways of improving and also preventing these injuries! @Ryan_W_Paul
