So @Upwork let's a freelancer work, takes their cut, and then suspends the account and keeps the money? And 3 agents reply but none of them address the fund release?
How is this legal? Every freelancer on upwork should be worried.

Escalating this to:
@FTC - withholding earned wages
@Consumer_Forum - Indian freelancer's earned money trapped
@rsprasad @GoI_MeitY - Indian IT worker exploited by US platform
All emails and contradictions documented. Happy to share evidence.
🚨 Upwork said Your payment is safe deliver.
Freelancer did. Client approved.

I earned almost 1500 USD on Upwork in 5 days, onboarded the contract like always, no red flags.
Then they call the contract fraud and take ALL my money when it’s time to pay.
The real fraud is Upwork pulling this stunt.
@Upwork, give me my money back!

@Upwork...seriously? Get your shit together. Your CMS isn't very cohesive, is it? This is unprofessional and embarrassing. #UpworkFraud
#UpworkFraud has been a problem for years. Clients and freelancers are being ripped off, and there's no accountability from Upwork. @benchmark @equityzen, do you think this is really a good investment? https://t.co/azZin6igEb
Day 9, and @Upwork is still holding escrow funds hostage after a freelancer attempted bitcoin extortion. #upworkfraud
@Upwork @jameswallman @CNBCMakeIt We were looking forward to having some leisure time, but since you foster a toxic platform that enables fraud and doesn't protect clients, it seems like that won't happen any time soon. Thanks. #UpworkFraud
@neshafreelancer @Typerium_io @fibreopticweb @SaleDomains4 @TruthGotcha @wbspretender @NeuroSis106 #UpworkFraud, because they act like they are a secure platform that helps clients work with freelancers when it's really all about Upwork taking all of the money, and failed jobs are funneled into a mediation process that costs clients and freelancers even more.
Automated replies are a sure sign that your company doesn't care about customer experiences because you have enough volume that even hundreds of harmed users a day don't hurt your profit. If you're considering using @upwork, my suggestion is DON'T! #UpworkFraud
