New video live tonight at 7-30pm #usedevweek made me laugh, virtually everything they list as a positive for USED EVs is a brilliant argument for not buying a new one, but if noone bought them new and lost a fortune, then there wouldnt be any catastrophically depreciated USED EVs to be bought as bargains would there?
and the funny thing is that the association whose members are losing their shirts is busily promoting USED EV Week, whilst going cap in hand to the government begging for Grants on USED EVs

More than half of the used EV orders on one salary sacrifice scheme are apparently cars that listed above £50,000 when new.
And this is being presented as a positive: used EVs supposedly allow employees to get into the expensive cars they actually wanted but couldn't previously afford.
But isn't there a rather obvious question missing?
WHY can they suddenly afford them?
An original list price from two or three years ago isn't the same thing as the cost of buying an equivalent new EV today.
The new EV market has changed dramatically. Prices have fallen, manufacturers are offering substantial incentives and discounts, and qualifying new EVs can now benefit from government support.
Meanwhile, expensive used EVs have suffered substantial depreciation.
So if a car that once listed at £50,000, £60,000 or more is suddenly affordable to an ordinary used-car buyer just a few years later, perhaps that tells us something rather more interesting than simply:
“Used EVs allow people to drive expensive cars.”
In this video I examine what this statistic actually tells us, why comparing today's used price with yesterday's original list price can be misleading, and the question that really needs answering:
What happened to all that money?
The statistic itself may be perfectly correct.
It's the conclusion being drawn from it that deserves much closer examination.
