Today marks 2 years since the Magna M5.7 earthquake! The Magna sequence is still ongoing but has significantly slowed down. To date, we have recorded 2,614 events as part of the sequence. In the last year, only 106 events were located with magnitudes ranging 0.1 – 1.9.

2021 Utah Earthquake Summary:
In 2021, 2,567 EQs were located in the Utah Region. Magnitudes ranged from -0.9 – 3.7. The largest EQ was an M 3.7 on June 9, located near Heber, UT. The Magna sequence included 124 EQs over the last year.

Between March 25 – April 7, 2021, 117 earthquakes have been located in the Utah Region. Magnitudes ranged from 0.1 to 3.5.
Largest eq in the Utah Region was an M 3.5 on April 6, north of Lakeside, UT.

The @USGS_Quakes detected a small #earthquake just southwest of Milford, UT. The earthquake registered at a 3.2 and was mostly contained to the surrounding areas. #utwx #utquake @abc4utah
Between March 11 – 24, 72 eqs have been located in the Utah Region. Magnitudes ranged from 0.5 to 2.6.
The Magna sequence included only 5 additional eqs. The largest was an M 1.4 on March 18.
The largest eq in the region was an M 2.6 on March 21, near Kanosh, UT.
