The training course of United for Social Transformation #uxst project took place at Iniciativa Internacional Joven (AIIJ) in the beautiful, sunny Malaga, Spain last month. Three participants from Ireland attended as well as young people from Spain, Portugal, Italy and Lithuania. The collection of participants had a very diverse background ranging from social work, psychology to teaching, and performing arts. Our participants shared that they were "very engaged from the first session of ice breaking and introduction. It got very lively with some spontaneous dancing and singing. The training then brought us through a revisiting of the modules covered in the online training course and interesting discussions on relevant topics." All participants were introduced to the basics of video recording, editing and use of Youtube as a platform for social impact by speakers from AIIJ. A Spanish rapper joined them and delivered a free style rap on the spot with the project name. Our participants also had a chance to tour the city of Malaga. They have had an in-depth discussion about social inclusion with locals and volunteers of INCIDE, another Spanish partner working directly in these vulnerable neighborhoods. They have created their own videos to address the aforementioned topics. The final products will be available on the project Youtube channel in the weeks to come.
