A small #Stata update: I have put together a package #vcontrol for version control that will be rolled out as a dependency for my Stata packages. This is a quality-of-life improvement epecially for me :) ⭐ Why this was needed: Users use packages, they find bugs or request features. These features get pushed onto GitHub and eventually end up on SSC. SSC updated are intermittent and done in bulk every one to two months or so. But there is a significant lag between versions. ⭐ Here is the problem: While users can update packages from GitHub and check the change log, they often rely only on what is installed on SSC since not everyone is on GitHub or likes to use it. ⭐ What this package does is check release dates on SSC versus GitHub and either prompts that users to update, or can also replace the existing one with the latest one. Currently it is designed for my own packages but it should be able to handle any URL that hosts package installation files (still needs to be tested). All of this is beta, and not all checks and balances are in place, but this will be added slowly to various packages especially those that get regular updates. So you might start seeing messages that a newer version is available and might also be given the option to install the update from the best possible source. Mostly likely this will only run as a dependency and direct interactions with this package probably won't make sense for most users. Thanks to Mikado, removing small bugs in #vControl radio. All HOBBYWING Platinum V4 and V4.1 ESC series support Mikado Vcontrol telemetry. Works like a charm. New firmware update coming up.
