Hello Chicagoans Little Village, Pilsen, communities across the West Side, and Northside are Next. I recently went over to the South Shore community, from 75th and Exchange to 75th and Jeffery, to talk with citizens today, I visit local businesses, and see firsthand what is happening in the neighborhood. South Shore is very dear to me because it's where I grew up. From ages 1 to 14, I lived at 68th and Paxton. From age 14 on, I lived at 74th and South Shore Drive, and later raised my children on 76th and South Shore Drive. I also attended South Shore High School. I wanted to go back to the community that helped shape me, listen to the people who live there, and see for myself the challenges, that exist today. I took videos and spoke with citizens, and business owners, and I will be sharing those videos soon. This is just the beginning. I will also be visiting . My goal is to make my way through every neighborhood, listen to the citizens, and learn directly from the people who call these communities home. I love you all, and thank you for allowing me to hear your concerns, your ideas, and your hopes for the future of our city.
