#VinylMusings “One From The Heart” film soundtrack featuring Tom Waits and Crystal Gale. Sort of vocal Beauty & the Beast or sentimentality wrapped in steel wool. Favourites include “Broken Bicycles” (Waits); “This One’s From The Heart” (Gayle/Waits) & “I Beg Your Pardon” (Waits)
Vinyl Musings Elvis Costello “My Aim Is True” Recorded 1976-77; released 1977. EC’s first and still ranks among his best. Certainly in the conversation of best debut albums. “Alison” ; “I’m Not Angry” & “Blame It On Cain” are a few of my faves.

Vinyl Musings: Dave Loggins - Apprentice (In a Musical Workshop) Released 1974 contains the hit “Please Come To Boston”. Second cousin to Kenny “Danger Zone” Loggins. Like a cross between Gram Parsons & Dan Fogelberg. Pleasant 1970’s country-rock.

#VinylMusings : Supertramp - “Breakfast In America” Recorded 1978; released 1979. Is this album #progrock ? Possibly. Is it Pop? I think so. “Gone Hollywood” & “Child of Vision” seem more Prog-like than the singles (title track, “Goodbye Stranger”, etc.).
