Diversity can create challenges because there can be a “reduced desire to contribute” (Levi p. 262). If minorities are treated with distrust due to stereotypes, they will not feel like their input matters and therefore, not contribute to the group effort. #VIRTUALF18

#VIRTUALF18 One of the biggest challenges that diversity poses for teamwork is misperception. This can include stereotyping and preconceived prejudices. This often occurs when co-workers fail to communicate and assume that they know their coworkers more than they actually do.

@DevonteBrown17 Speed and reach are definitely two important factors when it comes to communication methods because they are replacing face-to-face interaction. Communication methods that are faster are more useful to teams that need to communicate often. #VIRTUALF18

According to the chart on p. 308 of our text, the characteristics of ICTs are speed, interactivity, cue variety (richness), and reach. The ability to document the message, something we have experienced with @voxer, is also a characteristic (& a great one at that). #VIRTUALF18
