Donald Trump is the distraction. Yes, he has to be defeated. But he's not the real threat. It's the people who are willing to carry out his dirty deeds...with...or without him, who are the threat. Most people didn't really expect January 6th. But it happened anyway. People who should have been prepared...weren't. We now know why. People got in their way, and information was not taken seriously or communicated effectively with others. Whatever is likely to happen before, during, or after the upcoming election won't be expected, either. It's essential to consider the possibility of a Right-Wing Extremist attack, even if it doesn't align with your expectations. If it does occur (and there are compelling reasons to believe it will), the element of surprise will be just as profound as it was after J6. How can I be so sure? Because what we're talking about is a terrorist attack, really. That's how terrorist attacks happen. Terrorist attacks happen at a time and place of the terrorists choosing. That time and place are selected to have the best chance of others not knowing what the time and place will be... ahead of time. With terrorism, as individuals, it's not a question of "Can we prevent all terrorist attacks?" because, unfortunately, the answer to that is always "No." More appropriately and usefully, however, when we ask, "Can we rapidly learn to respond more resourcefully and effectively to such terrorist attacks that might occur?" the answer is almost always, "Yes. We can." We can't know for sure that they will occur, and we can't know for sure that they won't. That's the advantage terrorists always have: the fact that we usually can't know. One thing I know for sure is that when you have acknowledged it's a real possibility the time to calmly and rationally think about what your needs are and/or would be in that situation, you can live your life more fully and robustly, knowing that you have taken the basic steps to prepare yourself and your family to respond and live. A prepared mind is a more effective mind. Being unprepared is what the "bad" guys count on. The chaos and confusion that ensues allow them to accomplish what they set out to achieve. We already know what they want to achieve and how. We can't allow it. We must win the election and see President Biden safely and effectively continue leading from the Oval Office. That is our outcome... and it must happen. We want a clean and decisive win...just like last time. Putin is no doubt seeking revenge for the ass-whipping we gave him last time. Fasten your chin straps. Sleep well. It's time for some shut-eye, here.
