Year 5 tested Sir Isaac Newton's Law of Gravity by launching paper rockets using a milk carton. Then watched them being pulled back down to Earth by gravity. We tested our own resistance to the pull of gravity by hanging onto the bars before succumbing to the force. #WGAscience

Today in science, Year 6 have been learning about the heart. We mimicked the way the heart pumps blood around the body using balloons, bottles and red liquid. We were quite surprised at how far the blood squirted!

In Science, Year 4 have been sorting animals into their different groups ; mammals, reptiles, amphibians, birds and fish. They were very tricky to sort, but we worked as a team to successfully put them all into their correct groups.

This morning, Year 5 have finished their Science Topic - Life Cycles Including Humans. We looked at the different stages of human life and created a flowchart of Yes/No questions to decide which stage they were in.

Year 5 measuring the final result of our celery observations this morning. One of them grew a leaf 92mm high! Proof that some plants can reproduce asexually.

In Year 4, we have been making a string telephone in Science. This was to show how our voices can travel over distance by vibrating through the cup, down the string and into the other cup. We had great fun investigating how it works.

In science, we have continued investigating 'sound'. We have explored various musical instruments to see how 'pitch' is created. We realised the thickness of strings and length of tubes has an impact on the pitch. We then created our own pan pipes.
