Still recovering emotionally from my Woman of the Year Award win at the Downtown in Business #WIBA25 awards at the Crowne Plaza on Friday. It began with a beautiful tribute to our friend Emma Hill. She was so sadly missed at the event and would probably have been with us all at our table celebrating other women, knowing her. She was a rare human, and thank you to Frank McKenna and the team for this moment to celebrate her spirit. So many deserving women received awards either as nominees or winners, including my soul sisters Anne Cotterill, Julie Johnson, Alex Cousins, Joanne Henney, Sue Gregory, Emily Robson, Sonia Bassey, Ngunan Adamu, and Clare Ellis...along with some treasured colleagues and partners, too. Woman of the Year!! I almost choked on a tiny meringue nest when I heard my name being announced. Sitting in a room filled with fabulousness, mentors, leaders, icons, role models. I couldn't get a word out - rare indeed, i know. The room gave me such a beautiful welcome, and I felt proud of what I had achieved and what our community is collectively achieving. This is undoubtedly the entire point of events like this, and so, Downtown, you have nailed it. This award pushes me to do even more, meet more people and grow and bloom in the year ahead. I will live up to the title and proudly add it to my profile on this IWD2025. It's been a week of dreams following our win on Thursday with our Builder Book win at the LCR Culture Awards. It's a pinch-me moment after the tireless work of our voluntary team, sponsors, supporters and partners. Thanks to my friends for being with me, Jayne Moore, Rachael Bampton-Aiken, Waf Njonjo Shaw, Michelle Karalius, Chris Clark, Paula Johnson, Natalie Collins. Great to see Victoria Brown, Natalie, Emma, Jo Holmes, Steven Hesketh, Carolyn Hughes, United Wolves Productions, John Sheridan, Leon, Robert Binns, Ruth Wood, David Marnell and so many more!
