Felt like clearing my head today so went out on my own - first stop #WKML (& the office!) but carried on south down Wirral with thoughts of N Wales ๐ด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ท๓ ฌ๓ ณ๓ ฟ - it was dreich but calm, the lake was mirror like! 3 #Goldeneye, 3 Goosander, 25 Brent and the drake #GreaterScaup still present

This colour-ringed #BlackheadedGull was at WestKirby MarineLake today โฆ @deeestuary (thanks for the map too๐) was quickly on the case & found out itโd been ringed in WestKirby (Dec23) but had been seen in Russia ๐ท๐บ (Kaliningrad) in April24!! ๐คฉ #Winter #Wirralbirding #WKML ๐ฅถโ๏ธ

West Kirby looking stunning this morning after overnight frost, hardly any wind and blue skies โ๏ธ 3 Goldeneye (2 drakes), at least 12 Goosander and 5 tame pale-bellied #BrentGeese keeping away from the many dogs ๐ ๐ฌ around #WKML

The #SlavonianGrebe was still present on #WKML and showing very close at the north end as I was heading to @hilbrebirdobs earlier this morning also a Grey Wagtail around the car park - news from the island on our blog later ๐ป

A nice brief visit to the lake this morning with single #Goosander a pair of #RedbreastedMerganser a #GreatCrestedGrebe (not regular on #WKML) and a single CanadaGoose present. Lovely flat calm sea looking out @hilbrebirdobs
