Oil pushing a potential +$10 daily close… something we basically don’t see
Intraday spikes? Sure
Closing there? Different story
Most of the time → fades into settlement
If it holds → that’s not a move… that’s a regime shift
This close matters more than the spike #WalkSquawk

WASDE USDA reaction = knee-jerk bearish.
🌽 Corn -15½
🌱 Beans -14½
🌾 Wheat -7½
Heavier corn stocks + bean export cut = the market reading this as plenty of supply, soft demand.
January is doing what January does reminding everyone there’s a lot of product around. #WalkSquawk

📈 March beans pushing back toward $11, corn at 6-week highs, wheat steady on Black Sea tension.

So basically this “QE” isn’t what it seems; the Fed’s buying short-term Treasuries not to help markets, but to quietly fund gov’t spending and keep rates from spiking. Independence is gone. It’s fiscal policy in disguise cheap money now, inflation later. #WalkSquawk
🌾 Morning Grain Rundown #WalkSquawk
Slight green across the board ahead of today’s December WASDE (11 AM CT) but markets still stuck in range mode.
🌽 Corn: Up slightly, holding mid-range. Traders eye carryout near 2.124B bu (vs 2.154B last mo). Argentina trims corn export tax to 8.5% from 9.5%. Long-term USDA baseline sees ’26 acres 95M, yields 182, both down from this year — supportive for deferreds. Still, without a strong WASDE spark, rallies may stall near recent highs.
🌱 Beans: Softer early. Argentina cuts bean export tax to 24% and meal/oil to 22.5%, encouraging farmer selling; mildly bearish. USDA baseline pegs ’26 acres at 85M, up from 81M. Funds pressing, but China could fade the drop if today’s report disappoints. Watch for a post-report snapback.
🌾 Wheat: Slightly lower after Argentina trims wheat tax to 7.5% from 9.5%. USDA seen cutting U.S. carryout to 890M bu, world stocks steady-to-higher. Russia export prices steady at $227.50/tonne.
🕒 Bottom line: WASDE could be the key to shaking markets out of their chop. Lower global taxes = more South American export pressure. But with heavy fund shorts and light positioning into year-end, any surprise could spark a holiday squeeze.
🌾 Morning Grain Rundown #WalkSquawk
Quiet trade but maybe a little too quiet.
Beans perking up 🔼 2¼ to 11.28, hanging near the top end of the session highs after China’s 10–15 cargo buy. Still, bulls want more than talk.
Corn creeping above recent highs, trying to hold the 4.40 handle as 1st Notice Day liquidation winds down. OI down another 40k lowest since mid-Sept.
Wheat mixed, with peace talk chatter adding noise but not much direction.
Funds remain heavily short across grains setting up fuel if a holiday squeeze kicks in.
Seasonal softness may linger, but Dec–Jan often flips the script. Stay alert the quiet could be the calm before a bounce.
🌾 Morning Grain Rundown | #WalkSquawk
Corn & beans opened soft post Trump-Xi optimism, but no immediate bulk-buy fireworks. Trump mentioned milo, not corn, keeping early pressure on grains.
But after fresh details hit: Bessent saying China will buy 12 MMT of U.S. beans by January and 25 MMT annually for the next 3 years; we did see a pickup in corn & beans as markets digested the commitment.
Brazil soy premiums collapsing as trade shifts expected; China likely waits for softer futures to book more.
Argentina oilseed strike threat continues to support meal (11th straight high).
Global flow notes: Mexico raises corn support prices; Brazil corn area +2.2% but exports -5% & yields seen lower; La Niña risk for Argentina; Brazil rains improving.
Wheat fades with grains; U.S. prices now above French/Russian offers, limiting demand expansion as short-cover surge cools.
Theme: “Buy the rumor, wait for the receipts.”
🌾Morning Grain Rundown | #WalkSquawk
Grain markets are slightly lower this morning after yesterday’s stall at key resistance. December corn failed to push through the 200-day moving average and 50% retracement, but momentum remains strong 9 of the last 11 sessions higher with the biggest volume since the August WASDE.
President Trump announced a trade deal with South Korea, one of the largest U.S. corn buyers, while Ukraine harvest pressure has pushed their prices below Brazil’s. Still, U.S. corn remains the cheapest origin, keeping the bullish edge intact. Open interest fell by 11,500 contracts as short covering continues.
Rain chances are shifting toward the Southeast Corn Belt next week before drier weather returns to the west and central Midwest. In Brazil, showers this weekend should improve soil moisture and planting pace. Traders are watching tonight’s Trump–Xi meeting, where any mention of Chinese corn imports would be a bullish surprise.
Soybeans are lower in a “buy the rumor, sell the fact” reaction after China’s COFCO confirmed the purchase of 180,000 tonnes of U.S. beans; the first of the season, but smaller than expected. Volumes remain massive, with the last two sessions marking the highest in seven years. Brazil rains and Cordonnier’s 177 MMT estimate point to improving conditions.
Wheat is steady after Chicago December hit a six-week high, driven by short covering. U.S. prices now sit above Russian and French offers, which could slow exports. Plains weather turns dry again through mid-November.
Focus: Trump–Xi headlines tonight
Trump & Putin found “common ground” in Anchorage but no grand compromise. The one big unresolved point = Ukraine’s territorial concessions.
Until that’s settled, the war premium in grains & energy stays alive. Markets trading peace hopes, but Kyiv holds the key. #WalkSquawk

🚨 Trade heat back on: Trump slaps 25–40% tariffs on 14 nations — Aug 1 is do-or-die.
🌽 Corn/soy ratings solid but spring wheat drags.
📊 July 11 WASDE: Exports ↑, feed ↓ — weather & tariffs could flip the board fast.

🌾 Grains look lower to start tonight:
✅ Good pollination weather holds — no new weather premium
✅ Trump’s “good news” was just a farmworker carveout — no China deal
✅ 45Z credit helps soyoil, but row crops needed export spark
