The "wash sale rule" applies to stocks, mutual funds, and other securities. You can't claim a loss if you sell a stock at a loss and then buy it again at a lower price for tax purposes. The #washrule doesn't apply to #crypto, hence you can claim the loss on your taxes.

if a #NFT is treated like a security- are we going to recognize each project like @BoredApeYC & @FungibleFungi as a stock? And if so, does that mean the #WashRule will prevent people from trading their #NFTs daily? unless everyone is just making profits lol @GaryGensler help

#WashRule For example: you own Ford but have a Loss & decide to dump it. If you rebuy Ford within 30 days of dumping it you cannot take Loss to reduce taxes. If you dump Ford but buy GM you also cannot take the Loss because you bought a similar stock After 30 days ok to buy
