We are currently in Tororo District for the final close-out meeting of the #WeLeadProject.
It has been an honor to be part of this incredible journey alongside our partners, donors, beneficiaries and other key stakeholders.
These meetings have provided a valuable opportunity to meet some of the young women and girls whose lives have been positively impacted through the project.
We are pleased to share that local leaders have also expressed their commitment to continue supporting these young advocates, ensuring that their voices remain strong even beyond the project’s conclusion.

We were honored to attend the #WeLeadProject close-out in Busia today, celebrating five transformative years of empowering young women and girls living with HIV/AIDS in Busia and Tororo by building their SRHR knowledge and leadership.

Access to free, safe and non conditional SRHR services HIV treatment should always be a priority for young people.
Last two days on behalf of @JINJANYPA have participated in the close out of the #WeleadProject in Jinja and Kamuli which has contributed greatly on lifting youth.

It’s Day 3️⃣ of our #WeLeadProject close-out meeting and we are in Busia District alongside our incredible partners: @awacuganda , @TunawezaO , Advocates for Sustainable Health & Wealth in Africa (ASHWA) , @RHUganda and Fem Alliance (FEMA).

From inspiring stories of resilience to local innovations driving change, the impact of the project has been both deep and far-reaching. The dedication of community members, stakeholders, and right holders serves as a strong reminder that inclusive SRHR programming is not just necessary but transformative as well.

Today, we have joined our partner @IdiwaNgo for the close-out meeting of the We Lead project in Jinja City.
Over the past five years, the project has supported IDIWA’s work to advance the health and rights of young women with disabilities.
During the meeting, Sharifa Mbazarire, the Health and Reproductive Rights Program Officer, shared key highlight of the project including the successes and milestones, challenges and safety concerns, best practices, lessons learned, and policy recommendations.
The meeting underscored the need for strong sustainability plans to ensure that the progress made continues beyond the project’s lifetime because while the project may be ending, young persons with disabilities are still here and we must continue empowering them to lead healthy, fulfilling lives.
