"Under PM @NarendraModi’s “Mission Mausam”, India’s weather forecast system is being substantially augmented to be of the global best standards.
Automated Weather Stations (AWS) and doppler radars are being added across the region to boost real-time weather prediction.
Our weather forecast inputs are also being availed by neighbouring countries which confirms their reliability.
Shimla has one of India’s oldest #IMD forecast centres".

In the backdrop of the 150th Anniversary, the India Meteorological Department Thiruvananthapuram office will be open for the public from 10AM - 5PM on 13.01.2025. All are welcome to utilize this opportunity to learn more about IMD and its services.
