I think this story works a lot better watched in order than it does in isolation. There are a lot of elements that will become familiar with the UNIT era but this is the first and as a result it feels very different from what has come before #DoctorWho #WebofFear
Overall I have liked #WebofFear at lot (more than I remembered). It perfectly sets up for a final part to the trilogy, which sadly we won't get (unless you count Name of the Doctor). The sets and atmosphere are great and there is a brilliant extended cast #DoctorWho
The Doctor once again shows that he has been manipulating those around him. He hides his actual plan and misleads his companions. Unlike Seven though, his lying to his companions is what causes the plan to fail #DoctorWho #WebofFear
I didn't see the twist coming (the first time I watched this) and to be fair even watching this with foreknowledge I don't think it is well signposted. Still hiding the actual reveal for anyone who hasn't seen it #DoctorWho #WebofFear

There are some nice scenes with Victoria and Travers (which work even better knowing they are Father and Daughter) but they do emphasise the fact that Victoria is fairly useless in this story again. I'm trying to think of anything she contributes #DoctorWho #WebofFear
I think Evans is supposed to be adding comic relief but it's not working at all for me. Strangely though I am really looking forward to reading the book "The Life of Evans" just to see what John Peel makes of him. #DoctorWho #WebofFear
The Yeti are supposed to be menacing and yet they just remind me of giant Teddy Bears. When they are wandering along the tunnel with their arms outstretched they just look like they want a hug #DoctorWho #WebofFear
Anne is fantastic and works brilliantly with the Doctor. She is really outshining Jamie and Victoria in this story and making me realise how much we lost out by not having her as a regular in the UNIT era. Come on @bigfinish sort this out #DoctorWho #WebofFear
The web looks a bit too much like bubble wrap when the Brig and Jamie open the door but works much better here. There are quite a lot of cool shots looking at characters through the web which are more effective #DoctorWho #WebofFear
The pace has slowed considerably (and deliberately) in this episode as we watch the Doctor fix a metal ball. I think Robert Shearman puts it best explaining that this is really the point and that "“Nothing” has ever been not done quite so brilliantly" #DoctorWho #WebofFear

We are finally introduced to the Great Intelligence possessing Travers. It wants the Doctor to surrender or it will kill Victoria but is willing to give him 20 mins (the remainder of the episode) to come up with a clever plan #DoctorWho #WebofFear
The Brig who becomes a great leader does not have the best introduction. We meet him in the tunnels after all of his men (bar Evans) have been killed. He takes control of the military base and then gets them all killed as well. Not a auspicious start #DoctorWho #WebofFear
