I am speaking at the #Wednesdayseminar at @ics_delhi today on "An Indian Perspective for the @DalaiLama's Statement on Reincarnation" with @ksgokul_ chairing.

Abstract:
The Dalai Lama’s legacy in #exile is deeply intertwined with India’s modern history. Yet, public discourse often reduces the question of his succession to a mere geopolitical calculation between China and India. This talk reframes the issue as a matter of religious freedom and collective self-determination—principles India has historically defended and traditions it has helped safeguard. It argues that India should publicly support the Dalai Lama’s stated wishes regarding his succession and affirm its commitment to sustaining #Tibetan settlements beyond his lifetime. Such clarity would honour over six decades of shared lives and contributions, while reaffirming India’s enduring values in the face of external pressures.
