The impact
The Firenze perBene project helped to increase awareness of the site for hundreds of students. It also supported community activities and public realm enhancement projects, such as the refurbishment of the Piazza dei Tre Re.

The solution
The Firenze perBene [for good] project helped to foster a greater awareness of the value of the site. Around 30,000 ‘Decalogues’ were distributed, featuring 10 suggestions on how to best enjoy the city while respecting the site and its values.

In 2005, when the World Heritage Office of the City of Florence was created, there was a lack of awareness among the local community about its status, and what benefits and responsibilities this would bring. #WeekofWHS #AtlaSWH
Porto’s heritage challenge
As Porto has grown as a tourist destination, so too have threats to building neglect, over-occupancy, waste management, and the decline of residents living in and using the World Heritage Site. #WeekofWHS #AtlaSWH
