Recognising Excellence: A Commendation Well Earned. Please join us in congratulating WO2 McEvoy and WO2 Cunningham on receiving a commendation for their outstanding work surrounding the funeral of Field Marshal Lord Guthrie. Their tireless effort — from the meticulous planning behind the scenes to the flawless delivery on the day — was nothing short of exceptional. They carried a significant responsibility on their shoulders, and the professionalism they displayed represented the Welsh Guards at the very highest standard. To have their commendation presented by His Royal Highness, The Prince of Wales made the moment even more special, and a fitting recognition of the dedication they both poured into such an important occasion. As we celebrate this achievement, we also acknowledge two important transitions. WO2 Cunningham will soon leave the Army after over 24 years of loyal service. We thank him for his unwavering commitment to the Welsh Guards and wish him every success as he steps into civilian life. WO2 McEvoy will be moving on from his role as RQMS at RHQ London to take up a prestigious posting with the Honourable Artillery Company. Welsh Guards RHQ will miss him greatly, and we wish him all the very best in his new appointment. Gentlemen — congratulations, and thank you.
