My plan was always to go big… then bigger… then BIGGEST on each subsequent vessel. (As is my way 😇) One of my core strategies is to take proven theatrical technology and engineering and push it to new levels of complexity and production value. Bringing the world’s first #WheelOfDeath (a.k.a. #WheelOfWow) onto an ocean-going vessel was already a major engineering challenge. Creating a bespoke version for the cruise industry’s largest-ever dome, and for an #Aquashow, required close collaboration between me, the ship designers, and my theatrical engineering team. Together, we made the impossible possible. And, as guests on #IconOfTheSeas experience every night, the result is spectacular. With the hardest work done, evolving it into something even more ambitious is relatively straightforward. There is significant developmental potential still on the table — an #AquaWheel that interacts with the water, real-time laser tracking, micro-drones rotating with the wheel, and streaming the performer’s POV to the kinetic video screen, to name a few. All of these are realistic next steps. The foundation is in place.
